Project Overview

A fashion and lifestyle brand was struggling with third-party platforms that limited design customization, had slow checkout experiences, and lacked backend flexibility for dynamic inventory. They needed a custom e-commerce solution tailored to their brand voice, performance requirements, and admin workflows. We built a fully customized storefront using React and Tailwind CSS, with a scalable Node.js + MongoDB backend. The platform supported real-time stock updates, dynamic landing pages, SEO-optimized URLs, and role-based access controls. The result was a blazing-fast user experience, simplified content management for non-tech teams, and infrastructure ready to scale to 10,000+ daily active users with ease.

The challenge

  • Platform Limitations and Vendor Lock-In Their existing Shopify-based site had limited theme flexibility, high transaction fees, and a rigid structure that restricted how they could display collections, run promotions, or integrate third-party tools.

The Solution

  • Headless Frontend Architecture We designed a fully headless React frontend with SSR support, powered by Next.js for SEO and lightning-fast page loads. Tailwind CSS was used for pixel-perfect responsive styling.
  • Scalable API-Driven Backend A Node.js + Express API was built to manage products, orders, coupons, and users. MongoDB with horizontal scaling supported concurrent reads/writes during peak traffic.
  • Dynamic CMS & Page Builder We integrated a visual CMS with drag-and-drop block editing, scheduling, and multilingual support. Teams could independently launch landing pages without engineering bottlenecks.
  • Integrated Payment & Shipping Stripe, Razorpay, and Cashfree gateways were integrated with auto-routing based on order value and region. Delivery partners like Delhivery and Shiprocket were synced via API.
  • Performance Monitoring & CI/CD Deployed via Vercel and Docker-based CI/CD pipelines, the platform featured real-time performance tracking using Lighthouse CI and Sentry for error logging and rollback automation.
